The pandemic was tough on everyone that is without a doubt. the overseas shipping issues that followed created more problems, for consumers, Manufactures, and retailers alike. Consumers had to wait for months to get their purchases. During the Pandemic consumers had a lot of idle time on their hands. This led to a unprecedented increase in sales, in the home furnishings industry. Suppliers were furnishing retailers with stock updates although they were insufficient within just minutes of being sent out. it was next to impossible for retailers to keep up and adjust their counts this was especially so for smaller Ecommerce stores not using a EDI System. Retailers were receiving orders only to find out the product was out of stock. We offered our customers with options, depending on how long the product was going to be out-of-stock we would offer a discount if the customer they chose to wait for incoming inventory. otherwise we gave them a refund but this caused issues because refunds could take a few days before the funds were back in the consumers account. this meant that they could not order the product elsewhere.
Some suppliers are still having supply chain issues due to manufacturing and shipping. in many cases the product is already spoken for when it hits the supplier. and it may take weeks for more to be shipped out.
Prior to and during the pandemic we had 12 partner-suppliers and offered over 75000 products although we could only deliver 20% of what we sold with in two days of receiving the order, We had 5% of all the orders, consumers were willing to wait and we discounted the order which came out of our bottom line and we were happy to offer that to our valued customers.
Since the Pandemic, We R Home and Outdoor U.S.A has moved to a new platform that offers our most valued assets, Our customer more services such as buy now pay later. Replacement protection on your purchases and we still have our customer loyalty rewards program.
We have said in the past that we offer everything but the kitchen sink. Now we do offer the kitchen Sink, The Kitchen Fawcett, Bathroom sink, Towel bars, and so much more.
We have also partnered with some new suppliers that have several warehouses around the country. What this means is shorter delivery times for most orders. we have the ability to offer over two million products to our customers.
